(i will continue to think about what makes a white girl a white girl in part due to your support!)

Madonna is my favorite WHITE GIRL

I have been to every Madonna Concert since 2001 (Drowned World, still my fav) and when I did not have the connection to get a floor seat this time (awe POOR white girl), I took it upon myself to go to ticketmaster, pay for the cheapest, obstructed view seat because aside from putting on a damn good performance, this 50 year old mama creates the most amazing energy the garden has ever seen.

Gotta love someone that is not afraid to say it, with style. She even mocked Sarah Palin! Crazy as she is. She is MADONNA, my favorite white girl and there will never be another. EVER!

A good friend suggested I start going on dates w/ myself so that is just what this white girl did.

Where Peace Lives Mural Update : SOSIC COLLECTIVE Volunteers to Paint Background!

So we should consider ourselves lucky to be associated with a group of artists known as SOSIC thats (soho street ink collective). These artists consist of Nobody (TMNK), 2esae, AVone, SKI, and P.Wayne. This group of artists can be found each weekend in soho on Prince St. between Wooster and Greene selling their work. So I'll say it again, we are very fortunate that these full time artists took the time out of their busy schedules to "doodle" on our background. THANK YOU SOSIC =D.

So it is now the week known as Spring Break for the kids and I feel like we have hit the mid-point. big sigh... it IS difficult to be working on the same project for such a long time, but since painting the tree, the kids have really been great about it. I have the mural propped up in the front of the classroom and once in a while a random teacher / students will come in and say "Wow, I had to come in and see what this is all about because it just stopped me in my tracks." I think this makes the students feel really good about it and the fact that they are able to speak about it to an outsider also gives them a sense of pride.

I would also like to remind you in my lonely voice, because I am really not certain that anyone reads this... that this "Peace Mural" will be exchanged with one in Ghana, Africa which is also being created as we speak. Much thanks to for this great BIG idea. What an idea! Onward...........

WOHS Begins Mural Making Process ...[where does peace live anyway?]

So here we are... period 2 in my class and we are all having this "discussion" about what the background should be for this mural that will travel across the world to Ghana, Africa. Lots of "discussing" goes on in this class, as would be expected from a project as major as this. I mean we, meaning myself, these Art 3 students, and my Art Club (30+ kids) are all supposed to decide on "Where Peace Lives?" It is not an EASY question to answer, let alone all agree on.. LOL. as a matter of fact, I did not even think for a minute that creating a peace mural could be at times, not so peaceful. However, all in all the discussions or whatever you want to refer to them as have been good in retrospect, because they just remind me of working out the kinks to a really large head of hair. Each time we brush, some of the knots get worked out, and some are left for later. So we just keep brushing.. and moving forward!
By the end of this week we will be able to enlarge to the full size set of canvasses.
Peace!

Britney SpearsLaw enforcement sources tell TMZ an L.A. County Superior Court judge has just signed a "5150," meaning Britney Spears is on a three-day psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center.

We're told there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days. We've also learned there have been several parallel attempts to get Britney on a 5150. Her lawyers, Anne Kiley and Tara Scott, secured a new psychiatrist late last week -- she's the one who triggered the 5150 last night.

At the same time, we're told Britney's mother, father and brother have been "working closely with the LAPD for weeks" to get her back in for psychiatric care. There is now a dogfight between Britney's family and Sam Lutfi over who will make medical decisions, however, that fight is now put on hold because the judge now makes the call.

Once the psychiatric hold ends, something has to give.

Unknown Artist Outperforms DOW/NYSE

Dow jones image

Little less than a year ago an artist nobody had ever heard of, TMNK (The Me Nobody Knows) began selling his art on ebay. Each painting was offered to the public for an opening bid of $9.99. His paintings sold quickly and regularly at prices ranging from $39.99 to $65.00.

Today he still offers his paintings for opening bids of $9.99 only they're now selling at prices ranging from $250 - $350 each! That's a price gain of over 600%.

When contacted at his studio "Nobody" as he refers to himself said, "I hadn't given it any thought until I received an email from a collector named Dion, yesterday. This collector remarked that he was proud of my progress, and that my work now goes for 4x's what he paid for my work 8 months ago. WOW. I thought to my self, a nobody like me is a better investment than the stock market."

At first glance, this may seem like a pretty absurd claim, but much like the stock market his prices are set by the demand of the public. A demand that appears to be growing each day, especially after being one of the featured artist in a highly acclaimed exhibit featured in the New York Daily News recently. TMNK, although a so-called "nobody", has been building a name and a following of private collectors. Collectors that are no doubt aware of the recent record-setting prices of UK street artist, Bansky.whose painting recently fetched $240,000 at a London auction.

Most experts advise buying what you like when purchasing art. Well, he may be a nobody, but, if you like the work of TMNK, adding one of his paintings to your portfolio just might be a great investment, after all he's out performing the Dow, right now.
